I got these within the past few months and wanted to get some opinions on the authenticity of each. Even tho I've collected well over 40 yrs, I'm still new to these and continue to learn about the many fakes daily, and have posted several times on here about the fakes on Ebay. I'm concerned about the extra berries under the left claw- was that done only from 1873-76 or are there other variations? (ck the '75-S pic it has NO berry under that claw). I'm just abt certain the 77-cc is fake as the edges show filing and it has a too-shiny semi-proof like surface and upon close up exam the metal on the edges has tiny micro pores. The 73-CC has a thin "CC" with one of the 'c's not fully there. All 3 weight in at min 27g and when bounced have the silver ring. The eagles eye has that round large eyeball in the 73-CC. Appreciate all the opinions guys.....

Sorry, difficult call...Yeoman coin-book reference good information on typel/type ll trade dollar varieties. Available at local libarary. If they weigh corrrectly thats a good start. The mint/congress made a major error in revoking these coins. Folks were stuck with a coin that had more silver than did the Morgan dollar, yet silver mines flooded the market and the coin fell to a low .80cents on the dollar, a limit of 5 coins were previous allowed by bankers, others saw profits and the Trade dollar met its doom. , THE Barber design Trade dollar tried to compete with the Spanish dollar in foriegn market but dis-like for the design led to its doom.... Barber made three design flaws on the Trade $1 that up-set the public. Can You Name Them? sorry couldn't be of more help, if you could post single /larger pics I will sure try. Good Luck, OzarkTravler
