    94 % feedback is ok.
And it comes with a COA, so it should be legit.
I'll put it on Forvm, and on here when I get it to make sure.

The feedback is significantly less than stellar, in fact 16 negs in the last 30 days. I wouldn't have even looked at these auctions, I have my ebay thing set up to show feedback in the listings pages.

    Coolies...how do you do that?

Speakign of feedback, I have no faith in it anymore...not the number anyhow...

I think I have a 94.6 or a 96.7% feedback because of one neutral feedback about 9 months ago

Granted i wish i had seen a a before and after pic of Abon's feedback when they did the switch!

The coin in the auction is a very common type and is not in very good shape. Coins like these can be purchased wholesale for less than a dollar. I also would not buy a coin that did not show both sides. The COA is just a selling ploy, as the coin is obviously real...and really worn. There are a few people like this guy that offer COA's, they mean nothing, as anyone with a printer can make them also!

    Not your best purchase...

With patience, you could have had the same coin in much better condition for the same price.

On the listings page of auctions, where you see the auctions listed in order, you can go to "Customize Display" to the right of the box where you change from "newest listed" to "ending soonest" etc. It actually is helpful, but with the feedback change, I am thrown off a bit by everybody's feedback counts changing, so that until I get used to the new ones, I have to go on the percentages. As a rule I do NOT bid on any auctions with sellers feedback of less than 99.5%. 94% feedback with over 3000 transactions shows an unfortunate and longterm pattern of problematic sales.

I would have not bought off this seller, to many negatives and all have to do with ripping off with shipping or not shipping the item at all.

COAs aren't worth the paper they're written on, and I don't care who's signature is on them. Everytime I see a COA being offered, my warning bells go off and I wonder why they need to sell this coin/item so badly.

Not a very good purchase mate, the coin looks harshly cleaned imo.. i have a supersonic cleaner that makes uncleaned ancients exactly the same with those holes as well

OK now all that is out of the way, you have to start somewhere LOL the coin is not the best, and you realy should have checked his feedback but you will learn from this and best of all it has not cost you an arm & a leg :smile
If the seller asks for shipping just report it to ebay, he cant leave neg or neutral feedback for you so you are safe.
Dont give up on ancients, just do a little bit more homework :smile You can find some nice coins on ebay if you look. Also try looking at the other ebay sites in europe, allways check that they ship to the US and take paypal. Oh and check the shipping costs LOL

Best advice I can give you on ancients is buy the book or do the research online before you dive in and buy a coin. The coin you got is not bad for the nominal price, but that part of my collecting mantra changed as I grew in collecting. I have gotten to where I would rather do without something than accept some little niggling flaw that would bother me about the piece forever more. I bought some banknotes even last year that I am upgrading, and replacing, and wish I had never saddled myself with the lesser stuff in the first place.

I view my ancients as historical and wonderful pieces of art:

How can you not fall in love with Artemis / Diana and the Winged Thunderbolt?

Ancients open up a whole new world of art and culture, they are enigmatic and specialised in the collecting realm, but all so rewarding. Please don't let one less than appreciable experience stain your interests in them.

This guy seems like a real scum bag. You should always read their feedback when on E-bay. It's a nice coin though, just hope you get it and with the certificate. Glad you made this post though. Gave me a chance to block this guy on E-bay.

Nice is not a word I would use to describe that coin. It is closer to being a slug than it is to being nice.

There was an honest dealer that used to advertise in Celator that sold coins like this, and he called them "floor sweepings."
