Me....about 5 years, the last 1.5 years seriously. My wife hoarded alot of stuff during our 20 year marriage but I didn't really care about it then.
If you mean collecting coins, then well let's see now! I probably started picking up coins off of the floor and ground and sticking them in my pockets when I was about 1 year of age. So, that comes to about 54 years, 2 months and 24 days!:goof: All joking aside, I have been trying to collect coins since I was 20 (1973) but really got back into it about 6 to 7 years ago now. Frank
Started 41 years ago. Stopped for several years while raising the kids, restarted again about 7 years ago.
About 40 years - I still remember searching grandma's pennies for wheaties. Buying from the mint since 85 or 86. Recently unloaded most of the gold and platinum eagles - only kept the silver eagles. Seriously collecting for about 5 years now.
Well, I guess its been 31 years for me. I started in 1977 when I was 12 years old and have taken a few short breaks in between.
I started about 45 years ago, but with many long intervals where I didn't actively collect. I've always been on the lookout for silver or wheat cents or foreign coins or whatever I came across. I've spent much more time at it since 2003 and discovered through Coin Talk that I didn't really know anything.
A little less than two years of serious hoarding... er, collecting. It all started with those darn coins I had been keeping in a can and deciding I needed to get them organized... jeankay
