i have been looking and studying this amazing coin i have recently found i am 90 percent it is the most sought out double die and the details on the doubling are exactly like the other 3 on "IN GOD WE TRUST" from left to right you can see the doubling diminishing and on the date it is doubled lightly "LIBERTY" HEAVILY doubled any feed back would be appreciated.....
Welcome to Coin Talk. Better photos would help, especially clear closeups of the areas in question. Here's what a genuine one looks like: http://doubleddie.com/365001.html and: http://varietyvista.com/01a LC Doubled Dies Vol 1/DDO 1958.htm
heres my comparison image it is the verity i will post more pics after the grading should be 7 more days
It's just my opinion. I see a slight upwards smearing of some of the letters in IGWT. Then someone like @Rick Stachowski will come along and call it a DDO
see im a real coin collector and admire a coin no matter me or anyone else finding and or owning the coin the facts are there and the coin is what it is and no one can change that the doubling is exactly like the few examples that are know look it up if you dont believe me
I don't believe or do believe anyone.. It's all about sharing my opinion, which most of the time is correct. When you understand the differences in Doubling you will understand whatbI mean.. One day.
Isn't the origin and validity of that DDO debated as to the possibility of the famed Utah counterfeiter producing the 3 that are known , or has someone actually established the US mint made it? Many sites do not list it. Jim p.s. Die deterioration doubling on the original posted coin.
OPs coin and OPs comparison coin look nothing a like. OP COIN COMPARISON COIN OP COIN COMPARISON COIN of course, there is an oddity with the rim from being off-struck. Also, don't be fooled by bright, direct reflective light in thinking it's part of the coin.
