Hey everyone. I wanted to know where I could find a price guide, or something with all the Quadrans varieties from Antoninus Pius. A website, forum, knowledge, etc. would help. I need to price accordingly for the online store. Antoninus Pius Quadrans. Thank you everyone.
As a point of clarification, Colby, that price guide is only somewhat relevant and at best was accurate at the time it was written. The only way to get a sense of what a particular coin is worth now is to search auction and sales archives for recent sales of comparable coins (comparable in grade, strike, surfaces, artistry... everything). Finding a true comparison is often not possible so you have to estimate and extrapolate. In that Beginner's FAQ thread I pointed you to yesterday you will find links to the databases where you can research prices.
Sear is very misleading here. Most of the Antoninus pius quadrantes listed here are rare or very rare such as the 4327 Capricorn type. I have only seen 1 of the 4329 modius type ever listed and I immediately bought it. The 4325 winged thunderbolt type is common; the listed prices are about right for this one. Searching auction archives as TIF points out is the best way but for several of these types, you will not find any examples sold, e.g. the Capricorn type.
You have an online store? Oh. Well, that changes things, at least for me. I'm not inclined to help someone who joins this community of collectors and enthusiasts for the sole purpose of profiting from others' knowledge. There's really no shortcut for doing the work yourself. Use the link I posted to learn about what you are dealing, otherwise you'll wonder why the Arcadius AE4 you've priced at $200 isn't selling.
