I just received this in the mail today and am very pleased with it.
It is a Caligula Roman provisional from Sego Briga in Spain.
The pics from the seller looks like it has a green patina
but it has a blackish patina to me. Anyway here are the pics to compare.

Yours are much better and I personally like the black better versus green.

Sometimes it is down to the 'lighting'.
Incandescent will give different results to LED which in turn will differ from 'daylight', (and so on . . .)

Cool new Caligula coin @bcuda , I'd be happy with either color! Ambient light makes a huge difference.

Same coin, same camera, same photographer.

Inside, "warm" bulbs, wood paneled wall, wood desk.

Natural sunlight, room with no artificial light or wood around.

A great coin either way, but I think your photos are too "warm".
I prefer the daylight 5500K bulbs for photography.

My pics were taken with not much light at all and my camera adjusted the light. That being said that is pretty much how the coin looks inhand. I will try to take some pics with natural sun light and maybe change up the background to see if I can get rid of some of the warm look.

Thats a beautifull one, I wonder about the diameter and weight ?

Heres mine, not of great quality, but a heavy weight with 17 gram:

I usually photograph my coins outdoors. Natural sunlight tends to exaggerate the colors--or bring out hidden colors, depending on your perspective--and I usually have to tone down the saturation level to get a "compromise" between the way the coin looks indoors vs. outdoors. My guess is that the seller photographed the OP outdoors. I, too, am interested in seeing how your outdoor shot turns out.

    Beautiful coin, by the way.

Nice coin. I had a similar occurrence on this AE2 of Theodosius. First pic turned out "blue" for some reason. I posted it here on Cointalk and folks were shocked at the image.

I then re-photographed in different light and it looked a bit more normal. Here's both sets of photos.

Hey @Mat I went back and forth on deciding to buy this coin. At first I was not going to purchase it but finally told myself it will be a while before I find another one in that condition so I went for it, and I am glad I did.

I couldn't agree more. The color of the background rug distracts from the coin.
