I keep all my nice-looking coppers in separate rolls. I'd probably toss this one if one of those rolls.
Yes I did its stored I couldn't believe it thought was fake but it weights out so it's all good. Made my day for sure.
LOL.....ya gotta live out in the 'country' old friend...... Sods like us are missing the experience. I hear the meats are spectacular.
As for OP.......it's truly wonderful when we can pick out a forty or fifty year old 'copper' with luster most apparent.....'blazing'. I marvel each time. Thanks for sharing your 'find'......
LOL. In Houston, Texas we have Kroger, HEB, ALDI, Rice EPICUREAN, Randall's, Fiesta, and more. All are grocery stores. Some are local only. Some are regional chains. Some are National chains. Not to mention Wall-Mart, Target, Costco, Sam's, and other big box stores with supermarket departments. I bet you've got just as many up there, don't you Paddy?
Kroger moved outta here when the employees went on strike. I sure wish I could find another store with spectacular meats, though.
Nice cent. I find some old ones with that kind of luster and detail now and then in circulation, but come across them more frequently when coin roll hunting and I'll keep them if they look nice enough. Ditto for nickels and everything else. Kroger is in a lot of regions of the US. They're a large grocery chain. All we have where I live is Kroger, Walmart, and Vowell's, the latter of which I believe is regional. I do most of my shopping at Kroger because they have some great sales and deals. Walmart doesn't do big sales or issue store coupons (though I do like to check their clearance aisle), and Vowell's is just awful all-around. They have coupons and free stuff you can clip on their app, but every time I go to buy those things and they ring up, I never get the discounts to apply. They also have too much expired or almost expired food so you really have to look at the dates on everything before buying. I once bought a bag of cole slaw and once home I noticed it was almost two weeks expired. A few days later I was supposed to get a free pack of hot dogs from an app coupon. After realizing I paid for it, I had to stand in line at customer service for 20 minutes to get my $3 back.
https://www.kroger.com/topic/kroger-family-of-companies I'm pretty sure Fry's is Fry's-the-grocery chain not Fry's Electronics. But I've never been 100% sure because the logos are so similar. https://www.frysfood.com/ https://www.frys.com/ Yes:
...Nice find!...hard to find those in that condition out of circulation any more...I’d call it a AU58+ using your reverse pic, the obverse was too blurry...will carry value in about 20 years (imo). @furryfrog02 ...I had 2 rolls of 1969-S LMC that were damaged from rubbing together inside the roll. None of them were the highly desired and sought-after ddo, but they ended up less than MS60 the entire 2 rolls. For this reason alone, I do not recommend keeping coins in wrapped rolls or tubes any longer than necessary...Spark
