Came across a 1979 D penny no initials it might be hard to tell from the picture but it's not really faded like it's been worn off or die deterioration also there are no lines from an over polished die. Let me know what you think could I have finally found something worth more than face value. I'm keeping it either way it's my first actual something at least I think it is.

P.S. sorry about the color of the close up my USB camera turns copper a dark green for some reason so I adjusted it the best I could to be able to to make out details better.

Initials are on Lincoln's shoulder. Started that in 1918. Never heard of one past 1918 that didn't have initials.

Actually the initials of the Obverse designer (VDB) have appeared UNDER Lincoln's shoulder since 1918, the designer of the obverse (FG) put his at the lower right corner of the memorial...yeah, @Juggalo I don't see them.

It is not uncommon for the Frank Gasparro's Initials to be missing. They may have been filled with debris/grease.
Some coin that have them missing also have a floating roof. More common on 1969-70 coins due to a new Master die for those years and die cleaning.

I've read about it showing up on the 69 but couldn't find anything on a 70. Does anyone know if it's worth more than 1¢?

Yes under the shoulder. I didn't think about Frank G. designing the reverse.

I figured since the close up I showed was of the memorial everyone would know that I was talking about the FG initials being the ones that where missing my bad (geriatric attempt to sound cool) everyone.

Looks like 2 different cents to me.

If you mean because of the color itsi because the front and back photos I used just my phone to take the close up I used a USB microscope attached to my phone unfortunately the microscope is a Geek Chinese knock off and has a problem with turning all pennies a dark green so I adjusted the color so it was possible to see details of the surface of the coin. That's probably why it might seem like 2 different coins.

Looks like by lack of response that while I seem to have finally found an actual error (other than machine doubling) it's not something that would make it more than a 1¢ penny. Well I planned one keeping it either way because it is my first actual error find. Thanks to everyone for their interest and responses.

You will find this on most errors actually. If they carry a premium at all it will be small. There are a few exception though.

I found a new DDO on an Eisenhower Dollar and got it listed on DoubledDie.com. As far as I know, so far it is the only one found and it is still only worth around $3-$5 ungraded even with the paper work from Mr. Wexler saying it is the "Discovery" coin. If I got it graded I would probably lose money when and if I wanted to sell it.

In 2 of the photos it looks like a blob for the FG but in the close up it appears to be missing.

The close up is the only one you can see it (or lack of it). The first 2 we're simply because everyone asks for a picture of the obverse and reverse the 3rd I was hoping it would show up in because the close up the color copper gets turned dark green because of my microscope so I always have to adjust it after.
