When I was collecting cards, ne thing they always said was to keep your cards out of the sun and any other light as mch as possiblw so they don't fade. Is it bad to keep coins in light too, or is it okay? stainless
I would guess that the change in temperature and humidity caused by sunlight would have more of an effect than the uv rays. Maybe someone else can provide a more definite response.
I don't know the light is not effecting an 1888 IHC. I have had it in the window for about a year now - I keep hoping it will brown up. The chemical toning that appeared on it sucks. So all I can do is hope.
Sun Light I have an AU-58 - 1828 1/2 cent that I've been keeping wrapped in toilet paper hoping it will brown up, maybe if i put it in sunlight with the toilet paper , shows you should never ever clean copper coins . :goofer: rzage
The good news is I didn't. It was my ACC(or ACG) mistake. I had it for about a year(if I recall correctly) when all of the sudden he start changing to a weird color. Thats what I get for going cheap to get a steal.
I didn't clean it either I bought it that way , for $100 , hoping it would brown up , even if it doesn't I still like it very much . rzage
