Coins to get in 2008.

Which coins from this year (2008) do you think are a must have for collectors?


It can be any coin for any reason, but it must have been minted, or is to be minted in this year.
It doesn't have to be a coin specific to this year...such as an ASE which has been going for the last 22 years.

I have 4 previous australian Kangaroo coins and this is the second in the series of famous australian artists.

This years design was drawn by Reg Mombassa.

I would say none of them are "must have." So buy what you like but be careful how much you pay.

 

Well must have might not have been the best wording.

But people might get my idea.

Just a general lot of new coins from 2008 which might be of interest.

i would say the 2008 cent p,d,& s with the new cents coming out next year and the question of weither the cent will be changed in 2010 or if the cent will be deleted from our coinage?

That Kangaroo coin may not appeal to me as much as it would to youngsters.
It might even give a coin-collecting reluctant child a reason to begin a serious collection.The artwork by Reg Mombassa of the sheeparoo and the kangalamb is priceless, it gave me my first real smile of the day.

2008 new british coin design set.

a unique design.

 

I believe the coins to get in 2008 arent really the 2008 releases but older coins that have the potential of rising in value due to upcoming comemmorations. In my opinion, the coins to grab up are obviously Lincoln key and semi key dates due to the Lincoln cent redesign and new composition.

 

For me it would be the mint and proof sets to complete the state hood quarters run. Relatively cheap, easy to get . Maybe the quarter ounce gold buffalo proof fractional. You know, like a big gold nickel.

As mentioned some of the key and semi key cents. Also would think some of the common date wheaties. I recently purchased two rolls of 1956d wheaties , uncirculated for $18

 

But I loved Far Side lol...

That coin looks pretty cute. I might even think about that one... it's certaintly different if nothing else.

Think I'll pass on Canada's green triangular "tribute to the milk token" thing though. If I wanted something that looks like a milk token, I'd just buy an actual milk token!
