    So my dad found this quarter roughly 20 years ago would like too know what it is worth and any info someone might know about it thanks in advance....

    The coin has doubling on the reverse of the read, and on front of coin in the r and b of liberty

    The lettering is missing on the reverse, because it filled the cud area on the obverse.
    Very nice, and I would guess $20 or so.
    If it was uncirculated, it would be a lot more.

    It's just a worn die strike.. The doubling you see is a result of die deterioration..

    The obverse die was in self destruction mode at the point your coin was struck. A part was broken off and it was way past overdue for retirement. The major cud error overshadows what may be debris or die deterioration or even die clash.
