Penny ring: die clash or worn die?

    Still learning how the various errors are made, and I hit one that I'm not too sure on. I came across this guy in my change tonight. 2018 D. It has a ring inside the rim that runs through lettering on obverse and reverse.     Right after posting, I saw the recent post about the 1982 penny that had the same error, so I guess I found my own answer after I actually tried. lol.

    I figured so. I have seen it before but never cared about what it was until I started really looking at errors.

    Zinc Cents are terrible. So many coins that look like errors but are common minting problems.

    You are right about that. I do enjoy finding even worthless variants like this though. Kinda gives me hope for a better find one day.

    Great find I found one too out of all the thousands of pennies i searched ive only found one as a shield penny id keep it mines a 2017 D Penny. Good luck everybody ☺
