Hey all, I’ve had this Pennsylvania state quarter for awhile, think I found it in change. Anything in the minting process that would produce this? Or just someone with too much time on their hands.

    Answers appreciated as always!

Absolutely nothing in the minting process would cause this. Someone with too much time on their hands definitely would.

Welcome to CT. Your quarter is damaged. Not a Mint error. It's a spender.

Would you accept a quarter that looked like that?
Not even a Coinstar machine would accept it!

looks like someone was having fun with some curved nibbing pliers or something.
The one side shows the metal ripping/tearing edge remnants.
