    Dear Customers,

I am writing to make you aware of a super pre-publication offer from J. T. Stanton for the Second Volume of the Fourth Edition of The Cherrypickers Guide. Even after some slights delays (again due to a minor medical problem), the book will be available by the end of the first quarter of this year. If you are interested in details, my web site www.cherrypickersguide.com should provide all the information you need.

In addition to a 20% prepublication discount offered through January, all those who purchase now will also receive a 6 issue subscription to Cherrypickers News, or a 6 issue extension to their current subscription. The newsletter will again be published on a bi-monthly basis starting in March.

But the most important item of course is the book. The Second Volume will be even larger than the first, which will indicate a huge expansion in the varieties included in the higher denomination series. The dollars alone will include well over 100 listings, with some brand new, never before published VAMs included in the listings. Dimes, quarters and halves will each nearly or more than double. Gold varieties are expanding several times over, with over 40 listings, and likely many more by the time the book is finished.

Due to printing deadlines and schedules, we will initially be able to obtain only enough copies to handle a substantial number of retail sales. Certainly more than enough to cover any direct orders we receive from this offer, and those from our regular customers. However, it will likely be late April at the very best before shipments to distributors can begin. That is unfortunate as it is the distributor sales which actually cover the cost or production. There is not a single person who wants or needs this book published and shipped more than J. T. Stanton.

To take advantage of the discount and the free subscription, please go to The Cherrypickers Guide web site at www.cherrypickersguide.com. Here you can order directly with the 20% discount. You can also order copies of Volume One at a dramatic discount. Visit and order now so you do not miss out on this offer. You will be glad that you did!

******If you have already ordered a copy, rest assured that the order is not lost. However, I would like to hear from you, and I will explain the reason for the delay. With the bad comes some good. As a result of the delay, the book has been increased by over 150 new varieties since the fall.******

    Thanks,

    J.T. Stanton

I have the forth edition cherrypickers guide. Do you have an updated release after this with primarily Indian head cents available?

    Welcome to the neighborhood, Tim!

The 5th Edition of the CPG was released in 2012. Volume I covers Half Cents to Jefferson Nickels. Volume II covers everything else, including gold coins, commemoratives and bullion.

Sadly, J.T. Stanton, one of the original authors of the CPG passed away in 2018, and it seems that the prices for the 5th Edition have risen astronomically.

I have this coin and I am unable to find any information on it. I thought maybe a newer publication would have it in it? The error is above the sheild.

I'm sorry. I should have been more specific. The 5th Edition, Volume I was released in 2009. The 5th Edition, Volume II was released in 2012.

The process is not quite that simple. The CPG is merely a compendium of varieties that are routinely attributed through other sources.

I would suggest that you review the submission procedure outlined below if you think that you have a new variety.
