I've seen some people mention finding nice coins (cherry-picking varieties, early proofs, etc). So one can do well with them, but it's good to take extra caution (and it helps to know that they do accept reuturs/eBay will back you as the buyer).
I think I was bidding against @jwitten when I won them. Lol. He helped with the decision that the one was cleaned. Hence the return.
I also wonder why this wasn't graded. Are they attempting to hide something with the juiced pics ??? But, we are guessing what the premium over MV in a auction setting was, so need to figure in that not all people are all that savvy when it comes to coins, especially colorful toned coins. I did check, and the seller accepts, and pays shipping for returns within 30 days, and had at least decent feedback prior to choosing it. Also, seller has plenty of coins with over saturated (but not juiced IMO) pics, leading me to assume it's someone else's pics for this one ??? It's getting harder, and harder to find good coins for this thread, hence my outside the box choices on these last couple.
Okay, the total price was... $1643.95 It was an eBay auction. I purposely said "after all fees" to throw you off. There was a typical eBay story to explain the coin. Link to auction, and story. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1906-Barber-Silver-Half-Dollar-SUPERB-PROOF-Vibrant-Rainbow-Tone-flawless-unc-pr-/293192764523?redirect=mobile&_trksid=p2047675.l2557&nma=true&si=3QW%2F6c6Aj4fTxc9k%2BFcXpqDYG1M%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc
I’m here. That was sold by “thedockter” who may be even more shady than GreatSouthern. People have found the auctions were he bought details coins and then listed them as raw coins without mentioning the problem. He has also been doctoring coins (who would have thought coming from the dockter ). Take a look at the following threads for more info: https://forums.collectors.com/discu...200-year-old-store-during-demo-aka-thedockter https://forums.collectors.com/discussion/1022480/i-love-this-ebay-sellers-id https://forums.collectors.com/discussion/1022611/thedockter-is-now-doctoring-his-coins

I picked a real winner then huh. Still a gorgeous coin, even though it may be AT, or other type of problem coin. Outside the box.
It’s hard to confirm based on the eBay photo, but could it be this coin? https://www.greatcollections.com/Coin/691277/1906-Barber-Half-Dollar-Proof-PCGS-Genuine-Unc-Details
Wow, just WOW. I am starting to think the seller may not be honest after looking at the evidence provided (links) I can sure pick them. The coin may be returned, and may be up for sale/auction again soon, if the buyer is unhappy. (with the return policy). So... keep your eyes open, and credit card handy.
