PayPal No Longer Returning Fees from Refunds!

The bank they use has really high interest rates. I would avoid getting into cc debt w them.

If they keeping that on returns it makes shows more attractive for me in selling big ticket material.

That doesn't sound good for high volume sellers. Up to this point I've had maybe 2 returns in several years, so I'm hoping that trend continues.

 

How would ebay know if a winning bidder happens to be a friend or someone in relation to the seller? It's not quite like facebook where you have a laid out profile and friend list attached to your account.

 

Simple enough: a friend would never subject another friend to an ebay auction. In fact, there is an eBay seller who is also a C T member whom I would not call a friend per se, but who, nevertheless, has sold me coins below starting bid prices in auctions. AI is making the online selling sites a lot more aggressive at watching what you browse, then sending you all sorts of emails on that type of product for weeks and months to come. Don't think for a moment that they cannot detect ploys to avoid their charges.

 

PayPal, eBay, Facebook, Amazon, Google are all the same - I try and not use any of them.

 

I don't even recall signing up for the "remember my credit card" option, but I have it. Probably signed up accidentally. So whenever I hit Pay Now, the top option is "credit card ending in ...07." Any refunds I have gotten went back to my credit card, not Paypal. And my credit card gives me a small bit of cash back on eBay purchases. The only time I use Paypal is when I have eBay Bucks to use; it seems you have to sign in to Paypal to use them.

 

EBay's default is to save your CC info when you check out. There is a box that's automatically checked, you have to consciously uncheck the box, otherwise you're info is kept on file. I hate it! And, no you don't have to sign in to PayPal to use your eBay Bucks, I know because I don't deal with PayPal, but I've redeemed eBay Bucks.

Even if significant numbers of us flee, they will still gain on this.

True, but why give them your money? Every one of us that don't means less for them. Even in insignificant numbers. They are pusedo monopolies now - after they acquire more they will be true monopolies and be able to do and charge what ever they like.

 

I'll be absolutely stunned if it's the buyer, not the seller, getting stuck.

That is just pure greed. My thinking is that this will lead to PayPal downfall. When another PayPal2 begins, sellers will flock to them.

 

If I make an int’l bank wire transfer and the receiver returns the money a couple of days later, I still have to pay the fees for the transfer. Where’s the difference?

 

There's something too logical about that response. I gotta think about this one for awhile.

 

The buyer would have to wire transfer the money back and pay similar fees, no? There's a cost to both the buyer and seller, and a disincentive to use wire transfers to both parties if it can be avoided (for "everyday" goods and services). With PP, only the seller bears the cost. It's also why wire transfers for everyday consumers isn't as popular as CC, PayPal, etc.

 

PAYPAL BURNS SELLER.....AGAIN! Below is my response to a claim made through PayPal. PayPal forced me to REFUND after just 2 minutes (2 MINUTES!) of me posting my clarification response below!!!

Dear PayPal Resolution Center:

This buyer bought this coin from me on July 5, 2019. This started a series of “unusual” activities. It started with the buyer putting the coin on eNay for sale within hours of me accepting buyer’s offer. Buyer used my images and wording to attempt to sale the coin while the coin was still in my possession…not a big deal.

After over 2 months of trying to sale the coin on eBay, buyer contacts me wanting me to accept the coin back for full refund.

The buyer’s reason? Buyer stated “I no longer want the coin and has no use for it”. Buyer has had the coin on eBay for sale the entire time.

After 2 months of trying to sale the coin on eBay, now he wants his money refunded.

I offered to buy the coin back at a lower price (my original cost). His response was, “Fat chance”.

I am convinced this buyer – because he could not sale the coin on eBay for a substantial profit – is attempting to force me into a refund.

Here’s a question: So, buyer’s reason for opening this “claim” is that “Item not as described”.

If in fact the coin “is not as described”, then why did he attempt to sale it for in excess of 2 months on eBay with the same images and wording from my sale to him? Answer? He’s not being honest with you.

I don't see a problem with this. It says it doesn't apply to voids or most disputes. So if you SNAD you get a full refund. This only applies to discretionary returns without a reason. I like that change as a seller. It will discourage some frivolous returns.
