Im a sucker for interesting PMD. Sometimes I find coins that show certain reflections, damage or something when photographed with a certain camera and then its non existent with another. Digital cameras really play with images at times. I found this penny I thought was funny because it looks like Lincolns pulling a jam session. He has a guitar on his lap. That "apportion" isnt even there when I use my magnifying glass. I know this is nothing so no worries. Just funny PMD to me!
Not a guitar. This is the Lincoln Executioner variety. He is holding a giant maul awaiting treason trial verdicts.
LOL! Now if I was insisting this was a mint error and asking if I should mail it in....then argue about it with the talent and professionals around here...I'd be concerned about myself. I think my problem is I enjoy coin hunting for the wrong reasons. Any real error/variety or DD I am bound to find will not be worth any substantial amount of money. Its just not. I get satisfaction from weird anomalies among other things in the "minority". This all is strictly fun for me.
I believe what we are seeing is a stain. The angle of the lighting can change what your eyes and the camera can see.
agreed...its some lucky garbage stain. Probably someones spit lol! When I was looking at the coin, it was just fun to see it and imagine Lincoln strumming a guitar sitting there. Now I have this vision of Lincoln cutting the head off of some subordinate ....which is actually more interesting haha!!!
