found this looking thru some rolls -- love finding a coin 119 years old -- proof that treasures are still to be found -- it doesn't appear to have a mint mark -- a beautiful coin for the Grand kids
Very nice roll find. FYI - 1900 IHCs did not have mint marks. The only IHCs that do are 1908 and 1909.
To clarify further - all cents were minted at Philadelphia at this time. Because Philadelphia was the mother mint, her coins did not have a mintmark. All other subsidiary mints did. In 1908 and 1909, cents were minted at San Francisco as well and bore an S mintmark. As for the grade of your coin, looks to be F/VF. A very nice find in a roll!
Thank You furryfrog02 great info -- not seeing a great value listed for this coin but to me its exciting to find something this old
Maybe a dollar or so. Way more valuable for the "cool factor" of finding it in a roll than for the value.
The coin may have been released into the wild as part of the Great Coin Hunt a few months back. No matter how, finding it was great.
