PMD or Planchet error

    I was going through a box of halves and saw this one. At first I thought no big deal, PMD, someone pinched it on the edge. Then I looked at the edge straight on and part of the edge was not there. Looks like it was cut. Maybe it was punched out on the edge of the sheet of metal before it was made?     Definitely a clipped planchet coin. Nice find. Great photos.
    I too would like to see photo of full coin. Checking for Blakesley effect and all.

    Looks to be an ever so slight blakesly effect on the obverse opposite the clip.

    A very small planchet clip caused this effect. Nice find. Bet you're glad you didn't write it off to PMD.
