Won this on Sunday and this is a response from the seller today: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=270235932489&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT&ih=017 "I have found a problem!! while looking at the sale and packing up the bill last night I found that I listed the bill as a 1963B federal reserve note. and in the description I said the bill was a 1953B. there is no such bill as a 1953B. I will do as you wish in the sale. I will give you a full refund by money order or I will give you the bill and also put a 1957B silver Certificate in on the sale for my typo mistake. I do not and will not mislead anyone on a sale. it was my mistake and want to make it good before I even mail out the bill or bills. the 1963B is the only federal reserve note I have and the 1953B is not even in existence. but the 1957B silver certificate will be in CU condition and lists in my book for $8.00 that's two nice bills or a full refund. its your choice because I do not know your reason for buying the bill. you may not even care for silver certificates and collect only federal reserve notes. so you tell me what you want and it will be done." Of course I told him to send the Barr note and to keep the SC. I appreciate when sellers care about their reputation and their customers!
:kewl: Now THAT's the way an eBay seller should always act! Other people should take lessons from him!
well what he did was good customer service what you did was exceptional you did not take advantage of his mistake as some other might have way to go it is human to err it is divine to forgive
It's hard enough to find an honest man. Even harder on Ebay. I think you found a good one there. Bruce
Thanks Spock1k - I just treated him the way I would want to be treated. Easy way to live life! He emailed back and was relieved that there was no issue as he has had some bad experiences with other sellers - surprise-surprise.
Very nice handling by the seller. He deserves a lot of thumbs up. A friend of mine showed me a coin HE just got on ebay. Seller messed up on a MS66FS War Nickel and sent him a PCGS MS66. I took one look at the coin and told him to send it back and demand a full refund WITH postage. PCGS or not the coin he got was a 63 and nowhere near FS on a good day. You should invite this guy over to CT. We always need good members. clembo
I have had things go awry with eBay auctions, like misplacing the stuff I was selling, and had to notify the buyers, of course I eventually found it, and had to throw in extra for the bargain because of my goof. There really are a lot more good people on eBay than bad ones, but the bad ones unfortunately are the ones you remember most.
well here I am. I am the guy you have been giving way to much attention too. I want to thank each and every one of you for all the posative comments. I did what I felt was the only honest and fair thing to do and realy did not think it was that big of a deal. Its just the way I was brought up and I do buisness on eBay and in life. I felt that I needed to correct my typo and make sure the buyer knew exactly what I was selling and make sure he really wanted the bill with the true date before I compleated the sale. We emailed each other several times and it all worked out fine and his bill was dropped of at the post office this afternoon. He deserves alot of praise also because as one of you stated, he could have easaly took advantage of the situation and got his bill and a free bill to boot. So he is also a fair and honest man and a posative addition here and also to eBay. but eather way the deal would have went I knew I did the honest deal and felt good eather way. So please give him half of the good comments as he was just as honest and fair as I was. I look forward to joining in here and hope to get help with my collections and give out help when I can. I am just starting out in coin and bill collecting so watch for some questions from me in the near future.
Now this is the type of story that I like reading LOL and of course a warm Welcome to CT  I keep saying it there are honest dealers out there on evilbay, it is just unfortunate that the bad un's get the most publicity
Actually Darryl is a scoundrel and we have no idea what came over him to not take full advantage of you. OK, you guys both did things the way they should be done. Now, can we teach that to the rest of the 80 gazillion ebayers? clembo
