1982 D large date with small date stamped over it. And itake copper. I've superimposed the pictures of a small date and a large date and it turned out to look just like the coin here . it's even made the devices quite larger and appears to be doubled if you seen it in person please give me some opinions the 2 in the date will tell the tell thanx it was a well centered overstrike
Looks like the bottom left of the 2 took a hit. I see no evidence of curve of the small date 2, only the straighter lines of the Lg date 2. Furthermore, there is no indication that the 8 has a smaller top loop (snowman 8). Sorry, but I believe you're overthinking this. It's just a normal 1982-D Lg Date
imo, you're looking at the coin way too close-up. What with metal flow, etc. you're seeing things that are are normal on coins struck with 65 tons of pressure, or more. Overdates, RPM's, most doubled dies etc. can be seen without that close up.
If you could just see it in person the snowman 8 is there the shadows are messing me up with my photos and the top of the large date 2 appears to be a shadow in the photograph but its a separate 2 altogether but thanx
If you can find a min to take a regular shot of both a small date and a large date and superimpose them it turns out exactly like the 2 took a hit because the small date 2 is narrower
And how "well" we "c"? Are you going to send it to a TPG or variety expert for attribution? PS - One of the foremost variety experts in the business has already answered you in your thread (it wasn't me).
