    Hello Members,
I understand that this site is for discussion only and no Sales are permitted.
Hopefully, I'm not breaking any rules in asking for suggestions where I might sell
several expensive reference books (Ancient Greek coinage) I no longer use.
    (I'll provide names, if permitted)
    Thanks for any help provided,
    J.T.

Welcome to CoinTalk J.T.! :D Actually you can list for sale items on this website, used to be you have to have 10 posts before you can list for sale. That said, I don't know if that's still in affect meaning they may have raised the amount of posts required. Please look at the links and look around, IMHO this is the best coin forum on the internet! ;)

    Thanks, Fretboard,
My experience , so far has been very informative, friendly and comforting, to be able to discuss so many facets of Numismatics.
I'll check the links provided and perhaps seek permission, if needed, before listing
    my reference books.
    Cheers from humid Houston TX,
    J.T.

physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

If you have expensive books to sell, Kolbe & Fanning is a very well known bookseller. They have auctions, too. I'd talk to them and see what they can offer you.

What a small world. I live in humid Houston, Texas also. Well actually, we moved to not-quite-as-humid Katy, Texas last year, from the humid Houston Memorial area.
Do you know any musicians in the Houston area?
    Do you know Sparky Parker?

    Welcome to Coin Talk !!

    Hi Hookman,
Unfortunately I do not know Sparky Parker, but was very active in the Houston music scene in my younger years. (1960-70's) I was considered friends w/ Mac Webster (The Jester Lounge), Scott & Vivian Holtzman, Mgrs. of the 'Fever Tree', K.T. Oslen, Frank Davis who produced the early 13th Floor Elevators Albums & Guy Clarke, before he moved to L.A.
Thus sayeth the aged 74 year oldster,
    J.T. Parker

Speaking of Texas and books, @dadams is a Texan, bibliophile, and ancient coin collector. I believe his roots go deeper in the book community than coins.

Hi There!!! Indeed @lordmarcovan is correct - not only am I Texian I’m a Houstonian as well.
@J.T. Parker there is only one Numismatic bookseller in the Houston area and that is Bruce Burton:
    73522BBC-AE1E-4A2D-8B48-3436F085CD4B.jpeg
Bruce, is a great guy but like all book dealers a typically buy offer would be somewhat near 30 - 50% of retail value. Sometimes offers can be a bit more but it has to be a pretty desirable book that will move fast.
If you want to maximize your sell price either sell it yourself on this forum as suggested or through other means directly to a collector.

    As an aside:
I’m pretty deep into books and scout them mostly to finance my collecting of both coins and books. Since both you and @Hookman are from H-Town you might enjoy reading about my exploits with the first City of Houston Directory and I did write an article here about Coins and Books.

Sparky is a youngster compared to us. I only mentioned him because of his last name being the same as yours.
But that musical resume/list of references is quite nice and mostly well known but unmet by me.
I'm about a decade behind you.
I've performed here and there. Written a few songs. Made a little money on them.
Not much of any. Just enough to say I have.

Check out my ReverbNation page @ www.reverbnation.com/hookmanbrown
Listen to the songs (all the way through please, or I won't get credit for them), leave a comment, fan the page, keep in touch.
    I'm always around.
