Hello, Well, the tax rebates are already arriving in bank accounts and mailboxes. I've read many articles quoting many people saying they'll be using the money to pay down debt or simply save it given the current economic uncertainties. I was curious: how much of the tax rebates from cointalkers is going back into the coin market? I know that a portion of mine is.
none here either.. there is another thread discussing this topic as well .. some great ideas going there
first, it's not a tax rebate. second, the powers that be NEED those that get the money to use it in the market place, but the bulk of people asked plan to save it or pay down debt. the sad fact is for most, it will be used to buy gas - i know that's where mine is going. -Steve
Ah, I wasn't a part of the General Discussion group. That's why I didn't see it, which I thought was odd. Sorry everyone!
Steve: No, that is the right thing to do. How else could htey deposit the $10 million finders fee? I also did it, last December, and it should be here any day now. I'm just having a harder time making ends meet wihile I wait. It seems that I used to have more money than I do today, oh, well...probably just that old inflation again. Since I have nothing to do I should reconcile my bank account, haven't had a chance since November. Nah, I'll do it after they deposit my money for me.
I don't know how they get away with calling it a rebate (Truth in advertising). I won't even be getting one I guess I'm one of the filthy rich paying for the rest of the so called rebates!
my rebate will go towards covering the check I wrote them (IRS) in April.:desk: In other words, no economy stimulation going on here
Suppose I might spend some of it to enrich my collection and stimulate the economy a little lol... but most of it will go towards more practical necessities.
I bought a raw 1952 Washington/Carver Half AU ...Did I do enough to stimulate the economy?? While I'm not wealthy, all of my needs are met, and most of my reasonable wants are satisfied. I don't have any specific plans for the $600 I was "given" last week. I just slopped it in to my checking account. Most likely the fiancee and I will eat dinner out a few extra nights this month and through the course of "regular consumer spending" the gubernmental stimulations will slowly dissappear.
What little I'll be getting will probably just go into my vacation fund. It may buy an extra gallon of gas or two! Guy~
