I'd pass due to the poor condition of the coin. The real question is how much money do you think you can make?

It's not been slabbed; IMO avoid it.

"Restrike"? I think he misspelled "cast". :yack:

Edit: given @johnmilton's genuine example, this was a bad guess on my part. It might be a cast, but apparently that's the way these are supposed to look...?

If it’s real, it’s overpriced for the 1804 restrike Cent because the condition is poor. True be told it looks like a cast copy of a 19th century counterfeit. I vote “hunk of junk.”

No sir. I would stay far away from that.

Why not just bid on the one Heritage is currently selling that's already in an AU55 holder. It's much more attractive than the eBay coin, it's problem free, and it will sell for less than is being asked for the eBay coin.

Whenever you see a seller say something like, "Probably sells for much more in a slab," as a way of goading you into buying something, run.

I think if you try to flip it you are going to lose $900.

Here is a "real" 1804 Restrike Cent. I bought and sold this one to a customer who left me a want list when I was a dealer.

    1804 Restrike Cent O.jpg 1804 Restrike Cent R.jpg

This thing was struck with rusted and discarded dies from an 1803 large cent (changed to 1804) and the reverse of an 1820 large cent. It looks really ragged, but the OP piece still looks worse and like a fake to me.

That's a real example? Okay, I'll be recalibrating for a while here...

While the OP coin does appear to match johnmilton's genuine example,
I don't like the color at all.
If it is a fake, the dies that made this could have been created from a real coin.

I agree. It's got that Chinese fake copper look. Whatever they do, they always seem to get some corrosion spots, that often have the wrong color.
