Hi to the women who collect coins. I was just wondering (although, I know) if I'm the minority here. Lots of guys here at CoinTalk. I'de just like to know who else besides myself here is a woman and what you coin story is? Start........:hatch: Thanks, Laura
The problem here is most women have a few other things to do of relatively minor nature than dealing with coins, guns, knives, cars, etc. So many waste time with house cleaning, working a job, raising kids, waiting on some dumb guy like me that they just can't find time for coins and such. And the ones that do get involved with coins can't seam to fight their kids for time on a computer. :smile I guess women just don't have a good CENTS of priorities like us men. Stuff like this could get me into some real trouble.
Euwwww...thems some fighten words! I do all those things, have a 4 and 7 year old sons...and I make sure that beyond all my "duties" at home, I always find time for my hobby. It's fun, and sometimes it's lucrative as well. Love ya, Just Carl Laura
Twiggs has taken a long time off. Gonna have to email her one of these days. Now Laura, It's always refreshing to see women that are "coin geeks". In this day and age I can't see why there aren't more women involved in coins. My wife is not into coins but she has learned a lot about them. The "second hand smoke" affect basically. Live with a coin geek long enough and it happens. Is this true with your husband? Kinda curious. clembo
Clembo, It was kinda the opposite with my husband. I was into numismatics (and that's truely my fervor), however, through my escapades with coins...and, laying in bed with a coin book in hand, I guess I kind of peaked my husband's interests. He thought I should focus on bullion...so, I took a break and followed his lead... But, my true love is numismatics. Thanks for asking, Laura
This is true of men as well. Many of us men have a few other things of a relatively minor nature, such as providing for our wives, providing for our children, saving for their college (wives and children), fixing the cars, fixing the house, landscaping the lawn, running a business...
:rolling:Wow...this question sure gets responses from the guys at CoinTalk. Guess I'm the only woman out here with anything to say. Oh yeah, I've sparked so much interest (among the guys here) that I've inspired "Women of CoinTalk, Part Deux". Boy, am I feeling let down ...yet re-affirmed. Laura
I wish there were more Gal's into coins, and here on CT! Joesmom use to post all the time, but I haven't seen her around for awhile. In the past few years it seems that more and more the women just come and go.... Around these parts at coin shows and such there are always women, but I don't know many who are collectors. Most just comes with their husband. Speedy
Not to worry we'll just start bombarding them with PMs! I can think of a few women here that always lend well to the topics. Oh, and you're one of them Laura. clembo
Dont forget about elaine 1970. She , I assume she's a woman, hasnt posted in a while, that I've taken notice to anyway.
