I'm new to coin collecting and I keep seeing these ridiculous prices on this site(ETSY).

What's the deal asking $25,000.00 for a LMC with a die chip, as I stated I'm new to collecting am I missing something.

Any and all opinions would be appreciated.
    Thanks

Stay away from etsy for coins, 99% of it is junk & overpriced. Do a search here & you will see other threads on it.

That site is the worse for coins. Seems like anyone can list anything for a ridiculous amount and no one cares.

Etsy was never envisioned for items like coins.
It was meant to be an arts/handicraft site.

But it's like putting up a sign for advertising something useful.
Someone will come along and write something else on it.

It's a complete fraud and complaining to ETSY doesn't help.
    Ignore ETSY for coins.

I could not agree more. Besides ridiculous pricing, Etsy is over-loaded with counterfeits.

Etsy is where newbies that have posted damaged coins here on CoinTalk asking what kind of rare mint error they have found and how much it is worth?
They are told it is damage and not an error only worth face value.. They don't believe us then go on Etsy to try and sell their coins. :wacky:

Thanks to all who responded and even being new I researched this hobby and cointalk for a couple of months before I started.
Read alot I knew it had to be a scam I just couldn't believe etsy would allow it.
I just wonder how many people actually fall for it.
    Thanks

Their stock is doing well. But they clearly have no one who oversees
their coin listings and can't be bothered with it.
    It is borderline fraudulent/ criminal.
It's true you can ask any price you want, no one has to buy it.
But when thousands of coin listings all have coins that are literally worth 1 cent,
and the seller is asking many hundreds, even thousands, and ten thousands of dollars this is irresponsible and needs to be stopped. It is damaging to the hobby,
and it is giving out misinformation which people are accepting as true.
ETSY has some responsibility in their listings since they are making money from them. I really don't get these outrageous prices. Did someone at one time actually get paid for a worthless coin? This happens on EBay as well only not to the same degree.

I agree they should take some responsibility since they make a profit off of it, you know the old saying there's a sucker born every minute. LOL
