@Flyd 45 you should start your own thread to ask value. You should also point out specific aspects of each coin you post that makes you think it may have added value over the billions of other cents that the mint made that are otherwise just like the ones you posted. Happy hunting!

You misunderstand, sir. I would love to be able to tell you you have struck it rich on pocket change, but it is not true. You have highjacked someone else's thread. No hate here, just trying to give you some constructive advice. Feel free to ignore as you seem to know best.

@Flyd 45 - as a matter of fact, it so happens that I am the thread police, and what you were doing is called "thread crapping".

It is the equivalent of shoving your way into a conversation and demanding everyone pay attention to you, thus drowning out the original conversation. In someone else's thread (topic), that is rude and disruptive.

I've moved your posts to their own topic here, so they're kosher now (and will get seen by more, too).

I know you did not intentionally mean to be rude, and may not have been familiar with common message board etiquette.

Welcome. Stick around and learn. It's a great site.

This was a valid question. Most of us share those ideals, me included. But for me, history and beauty (eye appeal) are as much a part of the equation as monetary value. It's all good, though.

    An adventure, indeed.

Well, the 1958 Wheat cent is worth up to a nickel or so.

Coin collecting to me is about the history, the execution of the design, the eye appeal of the piece. Of course you want the coins to have monetary value as well, but for me that is secondary. My avatar is an example, I picked it up for ten or twelve bucks and it is still in Original Government Packaging (OGP) but has this cool blue toning. Being from 1972 I was 9 when this piece was struck.

It reminds me of the original Star Trek series episode with the floating heads in space.:)
