Recently at a coin show in PA my son won the following items in a youth auction: 15 Lincoln-Kennedy Penny cards - 1973 Lincoln penny with Kennedy engraved on the obverse also. Plus he also has 4 packages that contain a penny and a penny planchet. He would like to spread the wealth if anyone is interested and the only requirements to be part of this: There was a thread on the site asking for images of your worst coins - "Why would I own this?". He would love to see coins that are not good lookers or you still question why you hang onto it. So please post away, if we have more than 19 people responding we will have to raffle them off. Thanks for participating and here are the images of what he wants to share. Sorry that the scan of the penny card is not too clear.
Yes, you can submit more than one coin. Guess what I am looking for is what you consider the ugly duckling in your collection. The coin is bent, corroded or otherwise not too interesting looking. Hope that explains it more......
sorry forgot one other item....post them here in this thread. I should have been a bit more clearer. Guess on my next contest I will know better. Thanks....I will count the others that got posted to the original thread.
Ok, maybe not the ugliest coin I have, but deffinately one of those coins that makes me question why I still have it. Maybe it's because nobody else would want it either. Looks like someone had some fun with a drill! Guy~
Big nose Check out the big nose on Tom J. That's gotta be the ugliest coin I own. I've had it since I was 12 years old and I wore it around my neck until it turned my chest black. Bruce :goof:
Ok, well I guess that I will be closing this one today. Not very many folks have posted anything, I will be gathering a list of folks that I will be PM'ing for their mail address. If anyone else would like one of the items show, let me know. Otherwise I will need to find another route to share them out. Thanks....
I would like to submit this coin, if the contest is still open. I inherited this coin, and at first thought it was just a worn penny planchlet. You can see the feathers on the top of the Liberty's headdress, and on the back the shield is still distinguishable. My guess is an 1880 Indian Head penny. :smile
lol what? the obverse picture clearly has a giant hole in it and there is absolutely no hole at all in this one.
I will try to get pics up of a few, sorry for the delay. But I can try to get pics up tomorrow of some if you can keep it open a little longer. Phoenix
