Judging by the photo, that one looks polished.

    are you certain?

You have a good eye for detail, yes... the obverse side polished at some point in time, the reverse shows no cleaning ,retains some luster. I was aware of the cleaning and taken into consideration when bidding. thanks, ozarktravler

I hate to say it but I agree - looks polished. Any signs that this is a former jewelry piece?

Saint Gauden reverse $20, luster u grade

Coins were in display case and of all those that were cleaned , the FIVE dollar & TWENTY dollar US were shined/cleaned for display purpose, appears to be a type coin collector that purchased years ago for little of no cost. sorry the pics are in doubt, busy going through the rolls looking for key date / high grade and error stuff. Lots of FUN:hail: ozarktravler

The first photo looks polished because of the discoloration on top of the head and in between the "Liberty". It's still a nice coin though.

    face lift? putty job?

Gee... so she's ugly... I don't want to make love , just add it to my US gold coin collection. May well be just another ugly ounce of gold waiting for the market to spike , "bad face lift" shame on you:hammer:

The interesting thing about these type of coins is that it could be polished, cleaned, corroded, chewed up by the neighbors dog, be railroad fodder for a freight train, and STILL be worth within 10-15% of a quality AU/BU piece of the same type.

    gotta love bullion.

Don't listen to them OT. They are just trying to get your coin from you. :D I, on the other hand, would never stoop so low.

Considering you can tell what it is, the date, and it hasn't been mauled by a bear, it's a keeper in my book. But if you ever get one in better shape, you can send that one to me.

    Ribbit :)
