I want to share my newest addition with all of you. When I saw it I couldn't walk away without it! I hope you all enjoy looking at it as much as I do.

I know what I grade it. What do you all think it grades at? Be honest. Be brutally honest... LOL.

I am still learning how to grade, so I am going to take a wild guess and say MS-62?

P.S. Is that a die crack on "States of", or is that a scratch?

I'm thinking MS-63 ( maybe better) from the photos. Obverse looks quite nice.

It might be dipped, hard to tell, but it looks pretty solid from a distance.

I'd say MS-62 on the low end but it could hit MS-64 with such a strong strike and it has a nice die crack on the reverse.

    Sweet coin! :thumb:

    Ribbit :)

Very nice Peace Dollar Jake. I'd also give it an MS62.

Nice man. If you dont mind, how much did you pay? I am thinking cleaned (dipped) also. Because of the lack of luster. But an MS in my opinion. Good detail.

I so want to give it a ms-63, but I think it has too many little hits and bag marks. MS-62 with an above average stike. I like, if you ever get tired of it send it to me. Maybe in hand I'd bump my grade up.

The 1921 grades differently than the rest of the series, different coin. This one is much better than what passes as a commercial BU.

I'll go with MS 63, possibly cleaned/dipped due to the lack of luster in the fields. But, HEY, I've made my own mistakes on my last 3 out of 4 1921 Peace $s. But it's a real nice coin. What did it cost you?

I agree with Tater, but he should forward it to me so my grade may increase as well.

yeah i like the coin too but I think ther eis wear on the feathers on the reverse so i am going to go with au-58 otherwise its an ms 63

I say AU, only because I do believe I see a bunch of wear in her hair. No?

No , if anything is iffy it;s the reverse, not the obverse, this is an MS-60, or select BU, commercial Unc all day long !

    I think it's a "market grade 63".

I agree 'commercial unc', which is really an AU.

I have to agree with you alcochaser. I love the Peace Dollar. This one is definitely a very nice example to have in any collection. Wish it was in mine.

I am however concerned with what appears as wear or poor strike in the center area of the obverse. Having done zero research on this years strike characteristics I would like to believe it is known to be weak. Thus giving this coin a nice Market Grade of about a MS63.

Thanks for sharing. This is the second exquisite Peace Dollar I seen today. I truly enjoy looking at fine examples such as these. Great for learning to be a better grader, specially when it comes to MS coins.

I'm pretty sure that all 1921 Peace dollars were of the "high relief" variety.

Taking a stab at AU 58.....looks like wear on the hair on the obverse.

    Nice coin!

Shouldnt there be hair lines by her ear? Or is the 21 known for a weak strike?
