Just wanted to share a couple of pics looking out our back door of the normally clear (earlier bonfire area) view. Chuckle, it's clear now too I guess... Nine inches of snow so far on May 2nd is almost crazy, but I have seen it (snow) in June as well... Anyway I'm having to write between power/satellite reception outages, so... Take Care Ben
That just depends on where you are. It doesn't stop snowing here, I've seen it in every month of the year. We still about 8 ft. of the stuff on the ground. And it's snowed 2 of the last 3 days.
Ben - you need to get a webcam so we could see it live. That is the best way to see snow - in my opinion - from far away. So keep that stuff away from me.
Here is an update picture. I went out to the jeep, LOL, The front door is snowed shut with a 7-8' drift coming of the eve of the house (2 story) I tried to push the door open (Bad mistake...) and snow tumbled into the house. I had to clean that up with a broom and fireplace trowel. The only way out of the house are the sliding glass doors and the washroom which opens in. On open ground there is about 18" and we're only at 3300 feet above sea level but the Black Hills act like a sponge and wrings any bit of moisture out onto the plains where we and a few others live... Take Care Ben
I saw on the morning wheather that you might be getting some snow, but wow, thats a lot for early may. And I thought our wheather was goofy this spring. I have been wanting to go morel hunting but after every warm day we get we get two cold days which is stunting thier growth. It's a good thing you have the Jeeps to get through all that lovely white stuff.
That's debatable, I haven't tried to get one out yet. My neighbor (good man) has my cow/calf pairs (eight) in his barn. We share some pasture land and have known each other for a long time. If he hadn't have offered it would have been a LONG Cold Night for sure. BTW, the fences have drifted over and if a hard freeze comes. What's the old saying about RoundUps??? LOL...
Ben...you might want to change your name to "Chilled to the Bone" instead of Bonedigger...LOL WOW..hurry hurry Sunshine! RickieB
I used to have a 98' Grand cherokee and thought it got around great.....until ond day I didn't hit the drift in the drveway hard enough ( the snow got hard overnight). There I was parked on the drift with all four wheel off the ground. Oops.
Chuckle just put him out with our labs and he's Oscar (little one) along with Bucky (Yellow) and Sarge (Black) are now having the time of their lives.
Here are some local web-cams. Deadwood is the best... http://blackhillsdiscovered.com/siterun_data/web_cameras/
