    Hi,
Please open this link, it's the only way I figured out how to start this thread without having to re-type the whole thing again.

Basically, I want to buy Silver Bullion in the form of ASE by the roll.
Open my link for the rest of my thread.
    Thanks,
    Laura

Assuming, as you stated, that you're looking for a return on a silver investment and not just collecting, you don't need to buy at the bottom to make money in a long term bull market. If you get in at the first third of the movement upward, you can make a great profit.

Are we in a long term silver bull market? What will the top of silver be? I have no idea. If you think silver will zip past $50/oz and reach new highs, an extra buck isn't going to be the end of the world.

You can also buy a small portion now and buy more if there's a dip (dollar cost averaging).

There's the old saying "sell in May and go away" which may only apply to stocks. So maybe the price of silver will dip below $16 over the summer. If I could accurately predict that...... fuggghetaboutit :)

Over the summer? I wouldnt be surprised if it dips below 16 tomorrow.

Maybe, but just because the "spot" price drops doesn't mean that the price from a bullion dealer will drop.

Sounds like a good buying opportunity, as the prices of bullion will go up again. No one wants to keep seeing the prices go up and up and up continuously......then no one can afford it but a few people. And, it takes part of the fun of collecting away.

Thanks for the feedback so far, so, $375 for a mint roll of 20 ASE 2008 isn't that bad, right? The other thing is I want to buy over $1000 worth so I'm not taxed on it.
When do you think we will see another upward spike or plateau? This year?

I expect silver to go much higher within a few years. But I've also noticed that the ASEs in the usual places I buy are currently very overpriced compared to the melt value. Maybe dealers were caught off guard a bit by the recent price decline. So ASEs are probably a good buy, but not as good as they should be.

rather than buying ASE's which carry a premium over spot, buy junk silver, you can usually buy that at spot or a price below ASE's, more silver for your dollar IMO.

ASE's are nice but go for more than i'd be willing to pay for an ounce of silver. i like silver, not what the silver is minted into, and thats what you're paying for with an ASE, the minting AND the silver. not a good deal IMO but im stingy and tend to not buy stuff at a premium unless i have to or i think its worth it. in this case i dont think it is.
