Very, Very Deep Triple Obverse 1 Cent Die Clash

This is among the deepest die clashes I have seen on a Lincoln cent, copper or zinc. I see at least a triple clash on the obverse, known as a "Prisoner" cent for obvious reasons.

The reverse clashes on Lincoln cents are always considerably weaker. However, you can see faint clashing of his profile inside the Memorial, and the outline of his back and the back of his head as well.

A beautiful color and definitely an MS example. Enjoy!

Look directly behind his head. I see three, clear columns. Maybe 4?

 

I can't see behind his head, his head is in the way can definitely see two, more maybe, but not certainly. I like it.

Me too. Count the number of the first set directly behind his head in front of the Y in LIBERTY.

I see four in that grouping.

 

Yep, I can see the possibility of the 4 clashes you reference. I have a few prisoner cents I pulled from change back in the 80s in a box somewhere, but none like that. Seems like the mint was either having problems back then or it just chose to run the dies longer to keep up with demand.
