Picked it out of a "bargain bin" at the show in Dearborn, MI earlier this month. It's not great, but, to me, looks better than some I've seen... I'm not the best judge yet on cleanings, etc... so let me know what you think. I Bought it to fill a hole in the Lincoln cent album, the one right next to the hole that may never get filled (I still haven't been able to bring myself to pay for a big ticket coin... Maybe one of these days...) --Paul
Nice coin, looks EF-AU details by the pics, but has been cleaned. Still nice, just took a bath. :thumb: Phoenix
Very well could be, but FYI, the darkness around the lettering is greatly accentuated by shadowing from my lighting setup... I'm still working on dialing that in... There doesn't appear to be any scratches or swirls in the field's either... So I don't think it has been rubbed with anything... Dipping could be another story... If I remember correctly, I paid $10... EDIT: Upon closer inspection, there is a bit of gunk in the "In God We Trust" and in the wheat ears... So some method of cleaning is likely... I've attached a new shot of the obverse with flatter lighting... --Paul
The darkness there, and the lack there of it in other spots is a sign of cleaning, that, and the un-natural color. I could be wrong, but I'm about a good 98% sure it's been cleaned. Still nice though IMHO, just cleaned. Phoenix
nice coin, all you need All you need to do is place in album, over time it will begin to get a new patina, possibly not as good as original brown, but better than if you re-clean. Congrats, a nice coin!:smile ozarktravler
