Thank you all for taking time to look at my post. since I am new at this... I am assuming the impression on the torch holds no value?
It is not an error, but PMD, Post Mint Damage, probably from a rolling machine or some other cause. When posting, please post Full Size photos, not thumbnails and show the entire obverse and reverse of the coin, correctly orientated and then close ups of areas you question. You'll get more responses IMO. BTW Welcome to CT.
Hear dat. Sis @Sharon Robinson. These members need to see the whole coin. Other parts of the coin will help these members give you a definite answer. They can match these up with just a nick or a die scratch. This is a true statement
I'm a a mature &I know this coin is an error coin not sure were you guys are getting your expertise from but you need to look more clearer.
Maybe you can enlighten us on what part of the minting process would cause this. It would be interesting as you are questioning the collective expertise of some very respected members with years of attained knowledge
welcome to CT Sharon Robinson, to me it also looks like a rolling machine did the damage. just a quick tip for next time you submit a photo, upload the entire coin and then include your close ups which are really great. good job! good luck
Another newbie here. Wondering if this is just a damaged coin. Mint mark odd looking (D?). Bottom of 2 in date also looks odd.
