There appears to be an extra right thumb and an additional die error between his knee and the axe handle. What do you think?
Looks like a small die chip between the ax handle and his right knee. You stated an extra some on his right hand. Actually that's his left him, the one that's holding the book. It's on the right side of the coin but it's his left hand. There are a number of variations due to doubling of the finger and thumb on this particular coin known as the log splitter. It's considered a variety and not really a Mint error. There may be a small premium like a dollar or two for a coin like this but the values held down by that big black spot about 1 o'clock on the coins reverse. Have fun doing a little research and welcome to CT.
There are something like 100 different doubled die reverses on these coins that show doubling on the left hand.
