    Hi everyone I need a little help my pops had a bunch of Penny's in his sock drawer and I've now had them for years Nd just started kinda seriously looking into worth there is about two rolls of uncirculated 1982 copper d Penny's 1982 small date no mint mark zinc weight 2.6 and one more 1982 with no mint mark all this bug date small date I DNT understand please help I know people probably are annoyed

    The only 1982 cent you should be concerned about is a the Copper D mint Mark Small date.. Only 2 have never been found in circulation and attributed.

    Anything else is normal.

    I guess your grandpa liked collecting normal cents.

    1982 was the year the mint switched over from using copper for pennies to using zinc. The large and small date are varieties that collectors have noticed. Nothing is that rare or valuable. My guess would be a Magazine ad sold them at the time by capitalizing on the fact that the metal transition happened Combined with the different date varieties.

    Welcome to Coin Talk. No. There are plenty of 1982 Small date Zinc cents with the D mint mark. What you want to find is the 1982 D Small date Copper Cent. As far as I know, only two have been found so far. There are seven varieties of 1982 Lincoln cents.
