I am going to have it looked at a local coin shop. Wish me luck.

Your picture is too blurry and too far away. The 2 looks large, but it is far enough away from the rim that it might be small.

I wish my phone had a better camera. I guess its time for the Nikon with the Macro lens.

Ok, macro lens does not have AF so this is what I got. Left penny is "normal" penny.

does your scale go to 100th of a gram? Such as 3.12 grams?
or does it just round to the nearest full gram ?

Left one is a large, right one is a small.

Still don't know what the one in your first post is.

Next post why don't you show 5 coins with no description.

Which is neither of the 2 coins posted in his later post, right?

looks totally different, although the rim ding does exist on the right of the two, as in the single one. With such a variance in lighting, none of the other identifiable scratches showing, etc are not showing for a proper comparison. I'd say "no" if it wasn't for that rim ding (which looks different too).

The 2 looks to be in between both styles of 2 and it is not close to the rim, as in
    the large date.
If this is a small date (snowman 8) then the scale is in question as already posted,
it may have rounded up a 2.5 zinc coin to 3. Where are the tenths? Or hundredths?
The odds are against this being the 3rd small date copper 1982-D out of 6 billion Denver coins produced that year.

All the coin photos for this post were the same pennies, I just used a better quality 1982 D for reference. I will have to work on my posting of photos to meet these high standards. Anyways, the penny IS a 1982 D small date, unfortunately the scale at the coin shop showed it to be 2.6g. The hunt continues!
