Lincoln cent 1969 d beat up damaged or error?

    i think the coin is just damaged old not sure though

    what does the edges look like.
    Try to think of how it could have happened. Discard your "coin collector" mentality and just think general usage and stuff. The edges may help you figure it out .. maybe.

    You can't sell copper cents to any Scrapyard.. They will turn you away.

    Do you really think that the Mint would waste the time and money making a pair of dies and the retaining collars to make coins that look like this? A typical pair of dies can produce about 100,000 coins. Where are the rest of them?
