1970 S large date gift???..Maybe..hopefully

    I'm hoping this is what it appears to be and if so owe it to all you here in forum. Received it in change as I was heading to work and noticed the condition thought it was a newer penny. Got to work and took pics so I could get a better look and mouth dropped to the floor.

    Put it in protective baggie locked it in my desk till I got off work and right into a protective coin case when I got home. Really shocked as to it's condition after all these years.

    Can you provide a clear picture of the date.. I want to see the numeral 9 better. I say small and others say large.

    It looks like a large date to me, too. The crossbar of the "7" is definitely lower than the tops of the other digits, and the loop of the "9" points to the base of the "7".

    Your seven looks to have a crease in it. So it's a large date.
