That's what makes the hobby interesting, everyone is different. Oh, you had me worried there for a minute. I thought you were going to say; you break the white ones out, artificially tone them and re-submit them!
If you don't mind, I'd appreciate it if you could let me know the grade of the 1884 Morgan Dollar (with the scar on the face). The one right below the 1880 S Morgan graded MS 66*. Thank you.
Nothing wrong with that last Morgan. Definitely bag toned. Not to be disagreeable but I agree with the ANACS opinion. You have a nice red reverse paired with an unnaturally toned obverse. People calling it XF are crazy. The reverse tells you it's UNC, but the obverse doesn't fit.
A grade I didn’t agree with. Was ms 64*. I personally thought it no better than 63 because of that mark and all over bagginess of the obverse. Totally a color bump. Cac agreed as it didn’t sticker and they nearly always sticker accurately graded toner Morgans would be an interesting one for a gtg but the color was amazing. I regret selling it
Whoever gave it MS60 doesn’t know how to grade. That’s the lowest uncirculated grade. This idiot thought MS60 was just one grade better than AU58 as though grading is just one long continuum up to MS70. What an idiot!
Agree... I don't know why ANACS gives number grades for problem coins in the first place. But if you are going to give a number grade, you can't factor in the problem when assigning the number grade, which seems to be what happened here as it is obviously not a 60. Crap like this is why ANACS is ANACS.
