Picked up a EL Trite from Ionia struck circa 650-600BC I have no clue what the obverse design is suppose to be???? With this new addition, I now have EL/AV coinage from all 28 centuries of coinage. The coin weighs 4.63 grams NGC grade MS strike 4/4 surface 5/5
An amazing accomplishment. I still say you need to do a thread showing all of your collection. I know you are working 18+ plus hours a day at this time, but maybe on a rainy day you could start.
WoWiE!!! Way to be. That's what I'm talking about My EL from that time and place is a teeny tiny paw fouree: Ionia. Ephesos circa 600-550 BC. 1/48 Stater EL fourrée 3mm., 0,15g. Lion's paw / Incuse punch. nearly very fine Karwiese series I / Type 1 (for prototype).
Yeah, I was cutting a clients lawn when a thunderstorm moved in, so now I am at home! First rainy event here in 8 weeks. Worked 67 days straight (dawn too dusk) However there is still time for proxy bids on sixbid, usually just before I head to bed at 11:00PM. Always seems the same old story....so many beautifull coins....never enough $$$$$ John
What a great collecting milestone. Congratulations Pman! If you ever find yourself less busy I would love to see a thread where you post one of your favorites from each century from your collection. Great new addition to close out the 28
Great coin, as always, Panz! Here goes probably my oldest coin, made in electrum too: Ionia, circa 650-550BC. Electrum 1/24th stater, SNGvA 1802; Rosen 370; SNG Kayhan 713, 0.527g, 5.8mm, obverse facing lion head; reverse incuse punch.
Hot/ humid not very nice to work outdoors. July/ August have been hot, very dry not much rain. Only good thing about this weather, you get a mighty fine tan and lots of yardwork done= nice coins. John
