Ah, first one to guess! MS 63
It seems that there is a minor scratch on Washington's neck- I'm not sure if the scratch is on the coin or slab, though.

MS 64. Nice clean surfaces. That one scratch prevents it from being gem grade. Attractive coin.

I don't know if I'm interpreting these photos correctly, but the obverse seems to have grainy surfaces and much less lustrous than the reverse. The strike is mediocre with flat lettering and date. There are luster grazes in the focal area along with a obvious pock mark on the cheek. And then there is that small scratch. If that is on the coin, I think it definitely precludes a gem grade. The reverse is better both in luster and strike, but there are still some light marks and I don't think it is good enough to boost the grade past that of the obverse.

Assuming the scratch on the neck is on the coin, I'm going with MS64, otherwise I say MS65.

The neck scratch is on the holder.

The “graininess” is just orange peel. The obverse is actually more lustrous than the reverse.

Oh boy, after that photo, I’m at MS65/66.

I will stick with MS65 since I already changed my grade once.

If the scratch is on the holder, I'll also go with 65. Not sure how to change my vote in the poll.

I was between 65 and 66, but went with 65.
It looks relatively mark free (especially in the fields) and lustrous. The cheek prevented me from settling with 66.

Okay, now that I know that the scratch is on the holder, I change my opinion to a high in grade MS 65, with a good shot at 66. So, I will split the difference at 65+. Since that is not a choice, I will vote MS 66.

I don’t like the marks on the cheekbone, but I still think it’s an MS65.

Yes, I interpreted your first pictures as having that coarse, grainy type of luster. It can sometimes look really flashy. I think I'm still at 65 personally, but I know PCGS rewards Washingtons with great luster. There's a chance they called it 66.
