That depends...do you mean "under the eye" as in the way your coin is oriented?...or "under the eye" as on his cheek. If you mean the former, then yes, it is common, especially the chicken wishbone, which is what you have. Now if it was any other, say a quail wishbone, then you would have something quite rare! OK, no, I'm only kidding. I don't see what you think you see, & what I think you see is called pareidolia, a trick you eye plays when it thinks it sees a certain pattern. This appears to be a common affliction with coinage. Let's see if there are other responses. Btw, since you posted this in the "What's It Worth" forum, you likely will not optimize the responses you receive (read: not everyone looks at this forum)
I looked twice and I didn't see a Wishbone...either time. and it's worth a nickel.....or 5c.....depending on your point of view. Pareidolia is an interesting phenomenon, look it up. I see things on coins all the time, especially the more damaged they are, which is why I seldom search damaged coins for errors or varieties.
No one is forcing you to read or respond. Let's make a deal. I will read more about coins and you read more about manners. We can meet in the middle.
You have a typo in your answer. Thought you might want to know since your answer is based on you showcasing your intelligence.
Charlie, chill! You posted this in an inappropriate forum, & we get a lot of garbage in this forum from people who find a damaged coin & think they "found" something. And you didn't ask for value (worth), you asked us to evaluate the damage to your coin. We have patience & tolerance for newcomers, but in this case, the mistake is yours.
Thank you for those who respectfully commented. For those who patronize or belittle, your behavior only reflects negatively on the forum as a whole and devalues the other answers and this website. It devalues everyone's credibility as well, including those who are otherwise credible. This website needs newcomers to keep it relative. Not everyone is studied in coins. Use that knowledge to build your coin collection or to help others. If you are frustrated with this forum, take it up with the people who created it, not the people using it for its intended purpose.
I have no tolerance for patronization. All it would take is someone simply saying, "hey, move this post it is in the wrong section." I don't need to chill. I'm chilled. If this upset me, I would be concerned. I'm simply telling you that your actions reflect negatively on the website as a whole, and no one is going to trust an answer from people who belittle others and use emojis. If I went to a coin collector, this would be unacceptable. Even long timers need a refresher. This is the refreshing for those who behave badly.
