HI, I have this gold coin for a while, I ahve try to search info of the coin through the internet but could not find any. Could anyone help me identify it.
I don't think it is a coin so much as a medal/token. 1st picture rough translation: Praise the King and Lord Some sort of coat of arms or other image in the center. 247 possibly being the number of the coin minted in a series 2nd picture rough translation: Phillip King (of) (Asturum - I'm not sure) Portrait of presumably Phillip. 1977 - presumably date minted Beyond that there is no country or "value" of the coin. This makes me think it is a medal or token of some sort. I'd be interested in what others have to say.
I also didn't think this was a coin, because of all the Latin and religious references on it, and nothing on the net matches this. But there is a date, so that was interesting. I am not convinced this is real gold even with the 24K stamp. As 24K is 100% gold it would be soft/malleable. I'd get it tested for gold/purity. Copper or silver is almost always added to the alloy to make it firmer.
