Cheerios dollar coin

    Okay just a general quesrion, I saved my dollar coin from a box of Cheerios, according to all the information I can find they are stating it's not one. It's still in the original package it came in and has never been opened. Did they only send out coins with the extra detail tail feathers? If so what did I get in the box of Cheerios?

    If yours was a cheerios dollar the packaging would look like this...

    Your coin does not have that detail.

    Are you saying that you actually bought a box of Cheerios and that is what was inside? ...or did you buy it from someone and that was their story?

    I could tell right away from the tail feathers, and the photo in post #3 is very clear.

    No some of the actual Cheerios dollars do not have the prototype reverse.

    As mentioned your coin did not come out of a Cheerios box, it has been cut from a US Mint Set.
