Heritage Auction 60151 on Sept. 10 has dozens of off center Lincoln cents. Many Book 1 and 2 coins. I can't remember the last time an auction was devoted to error coins. Several better dates thru out. Also has off metal strikes. No these are not my coins, if they were I would not be selling them. Even if you don't collect O/C coins these are worth a look.
Here's the link, and I have no idea what book 1& 2 are. https://coins.ha.com/c/search-resul...ic=Items-OpenAuctions-Open-BrowseTitle-071713
Whitman issues Blue coin folders that collectors can put their Lincoln cents in. Book 1 starts with the year 1909 and goes thru 1940. Book 2 starts with 1941 and runs thru the 1974. I just use those terms to let collectors know which years to expect.
Thanks for your information about the upcoming auction, @tibor. Nice to see many error coins for sale in one place.
Since some of you have learned something from one of my posts, I'll expect a shiny red apple on my desk in the morning. Class dismissed.
Looks like someone was building a full Lincoln cent collection with every coin off-center andis now liquidating it..
They would have a 1909 O/C wheat too! At this point that might as well be a grail coin for me. It's a bit high for my budget
Only after a brief 2500 word double spaced essay on how our numismatic hobby has influenced your life. An appropriate bibliography with picture sources will be expected. Guessing is for someone who does not have full knowledge of the facts.
As my 7th grade history teacher told a friend of mine who used that excuse, do not bring me the "end result".
