Anybody have any info about this Barber Quarter style token>

    I was wondering if anybody can ID this piece. I figure it might be a gaminig counter as it's a gold color and about the size of a $5.00 gold piece (21 MM) I've searched and haven't found anything like it. Thanks, Mike DSC00939.JPG

    More likely a souvenir, piece above the back of the eagles head are 4 letters probably the word copy

    HI, there is something on the ribbon but I can't make it out. Besides there's way too much writing on it when compared to the actual Barber Quarter.

    Nice pickup but when I blow up the pic, the marks appear to be ornamentation. Dots separated by a vertical lines

    Gaming counter would be my guess as well.

    I wouldn't even say it's deceptive enough to call it a fake.

    I'm sure it wasn't made as a counterfeit as it's the wrong metal and size. I hadn't thought about play money, it could very well be that.
    Anyway, it's interesting and very well made.
