You've got a very good eye my friend. Not real familiar with this coin so I did a side by side comparison and the difference between this coin and the authentic coin are dramatic. ( hair,eye,date,lettering,etc.... Again, Nice catch. John
you do realize that eBay is used to laundry money, right? it would not surprise me if this auction was setup to do that. no reasonable person would confuse this coin with the genuine article. the obverse looks more like a cartoon and the background has a texture to it, unlike the real coin. i would hate to meet the person who believed this to be real if the auction was not a laundering scheme. clueless doesn't begin to explain it. -steve
Unfortunatelyit is not like that in this case, just look at what else he is buying and the different people he bought from, doesnt look like he even knew but it is wierd that he has bought 6 1883 quarters in the last few months :/
I hadn't thought of that...it makes cents. I mean who in their right mind would pay more than $20 for something they apparently knows nothing about?
no, just same year, it appears that all the other ones he bought were genuine, compared too the reference one in this thread, and all 6 were from different sellers, so i think what we have here is a person who simply was not paying attention, so he got boned
