I won this guy on Great Collections a few weeks ago. The RPM on this one (WRPM-003) presents with a very subtle notch at the top of the vertical bar of the D. I couldn't capture it adequately, so I decided to e-mail my images to Brian Vaile for his assessment. He compared mine with his discovery coin, and it seemed to be a match. That resulted in a first generation red DIVA sticker for the slab (ANACS MS64), for which I am most appreciative. Thanks, Brian! Brian also sent this one in to ANACS for attribution before it found its way to GC. Then, I decided to send it to Ray (@rmpsrpms) all the way out on the west coast for 2D imaging and 3D rendering. This was a labor of love, so to speak, to satisfy my curiosity. I wanted to see how well the RPM would show itself after Ray got a hold of it, and a subtle variety like this one seemed like a prime candidate for the service. Being that it's also a Friendly Eagle makes it even better. The images are incredible to say the least. It looks like I'll have other projects for Ray in the future.

A few 3-D still shots at different angles:

And here is the 3D "fly over" animation of the mint mark. It's so cool. Just copy and paste this link into Google Chrome and hit enter. I tested this, and it appears to work. Thanks again, Ray, for another super cool rendering. Let me know if this copy & paste method doesn't work, and I'll see what I can do.

physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

Your link doesn't work - you are linking us to a file on your computer. You have to upload it here for it to work.

As for the RPM - congrats on the discovery. That is an incredibly subtle RPM, but any RPM is cool.

Yeah, I kind of figured that out just a bit ago. :blackeye: I’m going to make a movie slideshow in Moviemaker and try to post it later today. Ray said he’s never had any luck getting them to upload, so I’m going to try another way. The program runs the series of 90 images live from my computer (I think), so I need to create a separate video for sharing. At least that’s what I hope will work.

@physics-fan3.14 - do you know of a way to share a .rar file here so that it will show the animation?

I used the Microsoft Photos App to create this 1971-D/D mint mark 3D animation (compiled single images by Ray Parkhurst @rmpsrpms). Enjoy.... ;)

That's REALLY neat. It would be awesome to see that done on machine doubling and RPMS.
